Tuscany Trip– June 5th-June 11th, 2024

Over the course of 7 days, we will visit 7 of the most exciting and dynamic family-owned wineries in 3 different regions of Tuscany (Montalcino, Maremma and Chianti Classico), be treated to lunch or dinner at 3 of those wineries, go truffle hunting, do a cooking class with a local female chef, eat at some of the most incredible restaurants in the area, visit the world-famous La Foce gardens, and so much more. 

Spot is secured upon receival of deposit of $1500.

The other half is due January 1st, 2024 and the final amount is due April 1st, 2024. 

½ is refundable by April 1st, 2024. Non-refundable by May 1st.

Cost: 6 nights, 7 days 

Shared room per person: $3100 for the week 

Single room per person: $3600 for the week

Accommodations are at the gorgeous Le Ragnaie winery property that is right in the heart of Montalcino that produces incredible Brunellos and olive oil. There is also a beautiful pool on site to enjoy at your leisure. 

Each apartment can accommodate up to 2 people with a bed the size of 165x200cm, a bathroom with shower, a living room, and a kitchenette. You can either reserve 1 room for 2 people (shared room cost) or 1 room for 1 person (single room cost).

  • 6 Dinners and 4 Lunches
  • Cooking Class with Raffaella, a local female chef in Tuscany

  • Free Day to spend at the world-class Albergo Le Terme Spa or golf at one of the many stunning golf courses in Tuscany
  • Guided tour of the famous La Foce Gardens which you might recognize if you are a Succession fan
  • Exclusive experiences with an intimate group of 10
  • A Tuscany wine guide written by Liz Mitchell is delivered to you ahead of your trip so that you can be an expert on the wines by the time you arrive in Italy!
  • Liz can source any of the wines tasted on this trip for you upon your return home stateside. 
  • A link to google maps with all of our destinations mapped out for ease of reference
  • Access to an Advanced Sommelier for 7 days to answer all of your questions about wine and tasting wine.

Trip cost excludes:

-Flight * I highly recommend arriving at least one day ahead of our start day in order to adjust to the time change and jet lag. It’s no fun falling asleep at a winery tasting and missing out on the experience!

-Travel Insurance *required to obtain

-Activities during free day- Spa services and/or Golf

Itinerary:

Day 1-June 5th (Wednesday)- 

Group meets in Florence at 12pm. Drive to visit and tour Montesecondo Winery (one of my personal favorite Chianti producers) complete with lunch. 

Check into Le Ragnaie winery at 5pm. Group dinner at the hotel.

Day 2-June 6th (Thursday)

Spend the day on the Tuscan coast in Bolgheri visiting 2 exceptional wineries and properties — Tua Rita Winery and Ampeleia. Lunch and Dinner will be at each respective winery. This will be an unforgettable day!

Day 3-June 7th (Friday)

In the morning we will immerse ourselves in Montalcino, visiting one of the most exciting wineries Casanova di Neri in the region followed by a lunch at a wonderful bistro in the heart of town, Alle Logge di Piazza Montalcino. 

In the afternoon, we will drive into the heart of Chianti in the village of Radda to visit one of the most amazing renowned wineries in the world, Montevertine , which will be a highlight of the trip followed by dinner at Osteria Le Panzanelle. 

Day 4-June 8th (Saturday)

At 10:30am, we will embark on a 1.5hr truffle hunting expedition with Paolo Valdambrini (President of the Truffle Association of Crete Senesi), followed by a truffle lunch (with wine of course) at Osteria delle Crete.

At 4:00pm, we will be treated to a private cooking class at the home of Raffaella in Montalcino. She is a local female chef who focuses on the regional and seasonal ingredients of Tuscany. We will then enjoy the fruits of our work with Tuscan wine pairings. 

Day 5-June 9th (Sunday) Free Day

This is a day to unwind, relax and do whatever you please! There is a world-class spa (which is where I’ll be!) Albergo Le Terme with hot springs baths and a sauna or you can enjoy the picturesque pool at the hotel and a spa service there if you want to stay on property. If golf is more your thing, there are several world-class golf courses in the area.  

If you’d like to rent a vespa or old vintage car to tour the area or visit Siena, that is something that I can arrange for you as well. 

In the afternoon we will have a guided tour of the insanely beautiful and historic La Foce  gardens culminating with dinner afterwards at the incredible restaurant on the grounds, Dopolavoro La Foce. 

Day 6-June 10th (Monday)

We will explore the Chianti region in more depth by visiting another epic winery, TBD, followed by lunch at the incomparable Dario Cecchini’s flagship restaurant, Officina della Bistecca!!    

After that we will visit another winery, TBD, in the area that will give us our final taste of Tuscany. 

We will end the trip with a memorable group dinner in Siena at La Taverna di San Giuseppe and a night out afterwards to celebrate! 

Day 7-June 11th (Tuesday) 

Group breakfast to say our goodbyes and depart the hotel and Tuscany!
